Tell Your Story Via Digital Tools

Hİ, EVERYONE!

How do you share your own experiences and stories?

Do you know a good way to share your own experiences and stories?

I know a good way to share personal ideas, experiences and thoughts. This way is digital storytelling. Do you know what it is? Let me explain it. Digital storytelling tells our stories, experiences or ideas through digital tools such as video, audio, images or animation.  You can create your digital storytelling via some websites such as Storybird, Canva, Pixton, etc. It totally depends on your choice. My friends and I preferred to use Pixton for our digital storytelling assignment.

While producing a digital storytelling, I was with Ceyda and Zinnur. Firstly, we found a topic. The title of this topic is Rapunzel and Disaster Prince.  Why such a title?  I and my friends did this like that because we wanted to make our digital storytelling unique. After choosing our topic, we adjusted characters and settings. Choosing characters were hard because we faced the dilemma about which is the best among many characters. To be honest, almost all of characters in Pixton was beautiful. Fortunately, we were able to discover characters which are compatible with our topic. We really had fun in this part despite this challenging process. Designing something did good for us. In final section, we added necessary sound effects to our digital storytelling.

I noticed an important detail while creating this digital storytelling. This point was that English teachers who decide to use Audio-lingual method can apply to this easily for their students. Therefore, I consider that using digital storytelling in ELT is properly and plausible. I hope English teachers apply it more frequently.

I’ve done the talking so far. Now it’s your turn.

Did you decide to create your own digital storytelling?

If you do, don’t forget to write its topic in the comment.

Our digital storytelling is here 👇 You can watch it.
