Knowledge Increases When Shared

Do you have any idea about online collaboration?
Have you ever worked together with your friends online?
I don’t know whether you had a chance to collaborate with your friends online. But I found a good opportunity to do this. I took this opportunity because our instructor gave an assignment about online collaboration via Padlet. Do you know what Padlet is? Padlet is a technological tool which creates virtual boards so that people can share and organize content, ideas such as videos and images. Namely, we can all share our ideas, knowledge, etc. on a common website. My friends and I created our padlet collaboratively. Let’s talk about the process of the padlet we created.
Firstly, we found a topic to discuss in the Padlet. Our topic was cyberbullying at schools. One of my friends, Zinnur, opened an account on the Padlet website. After this, Ceyda, Zinnur and I started to work together. What I mean is that we made multiple contributions to the Padlet. Page includes three main columns: what we know, what we want to know, and what we learned. Posts can be written under each column. We wrote our existing knowledge about cyberbullying at schools in the ‘what we know’ section. We wrote some questions in order to comprehend the essence of the matter in the ‘What we want to know’. And in the final section, we wrote what we learned related to our topic. All these stages were written individually. Briefly, we all contributed to our padlet by sharing our individual posts under each column. When we finished our collaboration project, we were truly satisfied with what we created.
I think creating something like our padlet can develop 21st learning skills. The collaboration of people can be very beneficial to them in terms of several aspects. For example, people can know each other thanks to this padlet. Furthermore, online collaboration via Padlet can enable to flow information to each other and teach them new things. Therefore, we can say that Padlet has a significant place for 21st learning skills which require using digital tools. I hope online collaboration and Padlet will be more common in the future.
